Niche Categorization
Create your own niches to categorize your listings. Once you’ve created your niches, search and analyze within niche groups for a better understanding of your product data.
Step 1: Navigate to the “Product Management” section at the bottom of the Manage Products tab
Open your Google Chrome Browser (Get it here) & Navigate to the Merch Database extension in the upper right-hand corner of your Chrome Browser.
Once the Merch Database extension has loaded, simply navigate to the second selection in the application navigation titled “Manage Products”.
Once there, scroll down the page to find the product management sections that start with the selectable menus and database search functionality.
Step 2: Plan your Niche strategy
Prior to simply attaching a couple of niches to your entire product database, take a moment to map out the different niches that you compete in within Merch.
Once you have planned which parts of your account you’d like to group in like-kind by niche, search for the listings in question using our search functionality.
When you find the listings that you would like to be within a specific niche, navigate to the column titled “Niche” within that respective product’s row, left click in the blank space for niche and a text field will appear.
Step 3: Fill out the niche that each listing applies to manually
Once you have the text field active for the niche of the listing in question, simply type in your unique niche in question and press enter.
Continue to do this with your catalog of listings. Unfortunately, the niche must be filled in manually for any listing that you would like to apply to any niche categorization.
While this can be tedious with many listings in a product catalog, it gives users the ultimate control to apply a label to any categorization for listings that are similar.
Adding niches to your listings can help to make your analytical reporting more robust as reports can then be generated and analyzed pertaining to best performing niches, and other critical account key performance data.
That’s it! You’re now ready to start analyzing your Merch account data and optimizing your account with our powerful analytics.
